Welcome to Hemolytic-Anemia.com.
Our site is supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health to provide information on hemolytic anemia to patients, physicians and researchers. The site is divided into two primary sections: For Patients, and For Physicians. We provide background for understanding a diagnosis of hemolytic anemia, information on different types of hemolytic disorders, and links to other informative websites for additional information.
In addition to education, our mission is to evaluate blood samples from patients with hemolytic anemia in order to identify new causes for hereditary forms of this disorder. The website provides the rationale for our research studies, describes patient eligibility for our study, and provides examples of the analysis that we perform when studying patient samples. We provide contact information for physicians and patients who would like to learn more about our study.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions on how to improve the website. In particular, we are interested in serving as an electronic bulletin board or exchange to bring together families, physicians and researchers with an interest in hemolytic disorders. Let us know of your interest in building an online community, and making this site a valuable resource!
